Koshka the Amur Leopard

Each time I've visited the Amur leopard brothers in their new exhibit, they’ve been awake and moving through their new space. Both Koshka and Primorye have been taking advantage of all the climbing structures, at home on the branches high above it all. I’m guessing they’d give it a two-dewclaws up!
I feel so fortunate to see this beautiful creature, especially since there are so few. They are critically endangered and It’s estimated there are only about 57 individuals in their native Russia. I’m thankful for all the breeding and conservation organizations that are actively trying to secure a future for these precious cats, and for the San Diego Zoo for allowing us to appreciate them!
