I got my first look at Satka today, and she is truly a sight to behold! Her and her sister, Liski are Amur leopards that recently went on exhibit at the San Diego Zoo after arriving from France. It’s so amazing to have the chance to see these beautiful, and critically endangered cats. It’s estimated that there are only about 80 individuals left in the wild. The hope is that one of these females will be a breeding partner to the handsome male, Oskar, as part of the captive breeding program. Fingers crossed for Amur leopard cubs in our future!
