Kima the Mysterious Mountain Lion

The word mysterious comes to mind when I see a mountain lion. There’s a certain mystery about all cats, but their subtle coloring and facial features give them a look that is especially intriguing. The mountain lion is known for being a secretive and reclusive cat, rarely sighted even in areas where they’re known to live. They’re the largest cat native to California, and the second largest cat native to the Americas, after the jaguar. Even Kima, the handsome male at the San Diego Zoo, can be a challenge to see awake and active, so I was thrilled to get a good look!
