A Special Friendship

When I watch Bakka, the male South African cheetah, and his dog pal Miley, a female husky-mix, at the San Diego Zoo, it's clear these two have an extraordinary bond.
The Zoo has paired many cheetahs with dog companions to work as animal ambassadors and it has worked out well. The dogs take the role as leader, and the cheetahs follow their example and are able to learn to interact with people.
It warms my heart to see Bakka & Miley relaxing together, grooming each other, and, on occasion, having some high energy playtime.
